Walking to School Week takes place from 16th to 20th May . English Martyrs’ is getting involved and helping to celebrate the benefits of exercise by encouraging pupils and parents to walk to school.

This year’s theme is ‘Strider’s Walk in the Wild’ and each day’s walking challenge will focus on a different animal from around the world. The teachers will be working with their classes on different activities in the week and keeping a record of how many children have changed their usual route and walked to school.

It’s an ideal way to demonstrate to pupils the value of walking to school and being active and healthy.

Please visit TfL’s STARS website – tfl.gov.uk/STARS and Living Streets’ website – www.livingstreets.org.uk for walking-related resources and information on how to join in.
