Year 3 Endzone
The year 3 children really enjoyed their endzone event, delivered by the LPESSN. Endzone is a game that they hadn’t previously encountered so it required them to think critically and problem solve. They also had to work together as a team and communicate effectively. The children worked hard and gave it their best effort throughout the event. They showed resilience to carry on when they found the game challenging. Excellent year 3!
Year 6 Endzone
The year 6 children had great fun participating in their endzone event, delivered by the LPESSN. This is a game that they hadn’t previously played so it was very exciting for them. The children demonstrated good team work, as they were communicating effectively and cheering each other on. This event also required them to think critically and problem solve. The children worked hard and gave it their best effort and showed passion to compete as well as they could. They also showed resilience to carry on when they found things challenging. Well done year 6!
Year 6 Football Match
A mix of year 6 boys and girls attended a football event at Archbishop Sumner School. They had two matches; they won one game and lost the other. The children worked well as a team and gave it their best effort throughout. I am proud of how they conducted themselves during the games and their positive attitude towards the game. They created a positive atmosphere and it showed on the pitch, as they helped each other out and encouraged each other. Well done boys and girls!
Sports Day 2021
All year groups have had their Sports Day now. We had to make some changes due to Covid-19 but the children thoroughly enjoyed it. Years 1,2 and 3 had their sports day in the morning at Burgess Park and years 4, 5 and 6 had it in the afternoon at Burgess Park. Early Years also had their own Sports Day at school. All year groups engaged in a carousel of different activities that involved team work, agility, balance and coordination. All year groups also had races and years 1-6 had tug of war. It was a pleasure to see the children cheering each other on and enjoying themselves throughout the event, especially after some difficult times in relation to Covid-19. A big shout out to all the children for helping to create such a positive atmosphere and to all the staff members who helped to make this special event for the children!
